Your story of rushing off to the cabin reminded me of the time I was living on the East coast and dating someone on the West coast. I could tell our relationship was struggling, he was becoming avoidant, and my insecurity was soaring. I called his home phone every five minutes for about two hours until I reached him. The next day, he mentioned he had Caller ID (new technology at the time) and that he knew I had called about fifty times the night before. I was mortified!! Relationships can make us do crazy things!
