Your opening story made me think of when I watched the movie, "The Road." Someone recommended it. It was so disturbing that i couldn't finish it and it still haunts me! I would much rather envision a world where people work together.

That being said, I like the suggestion to set an "other-directed" intention for the day. I'm going to start that.
