Yes, yes, yes!! When I first rescued my dog, I kept her on a lead because she was a flight risk. It was so difficult when off-leash dogs ran up to her. She would be protective of me and the encounter was always very stressful. Now, Molly is great off leash and likes to interact with other dogs, but I'm very careful to read the situation. Like you said, it is something dog owners might not think about until they have a reactive (scared, injured) dog of their own. Great piece, Ali!!
