When I first started on Medium, I left a comment on an article and the writer responded to the comment with a link to another one of her articles. I didn't know the author - it was the first story of hers that I had ever read or commented on. I was taken aback that her response to my comment was to include another link - that seemed a little lazy. It left a bad taste in my mouth regarding links in comments.

That said, if an author that I have a "relationship" with includes a link or suggests a title, I like that. I already know I enjoy their articles and I look forward to reading more of them. So, I guess it depends on how familiar I am with the writer.
