I’m sorry your friend is dealing with this situation. As I was reading the article, I wondered if your friend and her parents had considered meeting with a family therapist for a few sessions? It might be easier to openly communicate concerns with a third party present. I eloped when I married 24 years ago. I got married and then told my parents. That worked well for me. : )
