I'm glad you received support from your parents, instructors & friends and that you had time to step back and consider your future. So many people move through life doing what they are supposed to do instead of what they want to do - very happy you are pursuing your dreams. : )

And, I agree, mindfulness is such an important part of managing unhelpful thoughts and difficult emotions!
