I once submitted a piece to a small publication and the editorial team changed the image & title before publishing. I was surprised they made these changes without notifying me first - I didn't see the changes until it was published. This was many months ago and I still cringe when I see the title because it is definitely not how I wrote it.

On another note, I recently self published an article and it has been my top performing piece to date, so I think articles can certainly do well when self published. It's kind of fun trying to figure out this platform. Lol.
