I had never considered this before and I'm guilty of saying "As a mother/As a parent/As a psychologist/etc." at times. I may preface my sentences too much with these qualifiers. I'm going to be more aware of this tendency. We all have the capacity for empathy! Thank you , Ali, for this reminder to carefully consider how our words might impact others.
