Fascinating article on secrets! They really do damage relationships. I knew someone who had a relatively minor transgression with the law, did not tell her future spouse, and then later divorced him because she was so sure he would would never forgive her if he ever knew. She made all these decisions on her own without giving him a chance to accept her. Heartbreaking.
